Interns.
Me: am not introducing you to my interns to sleep with.
Friend: why not? and who says I only want to sleep with your interns. I'm not that big of a creep
Me: what. you want to have deep discussions with them about the future of media?!
Friend: yes that sounds nice
Me: over coitus?
Friend: sure. before, during, after. all good

1. Try not to treat her like a whore.
“First he should greet her in his usual way; this, however, should always be done, and all lovers must realize that after the salutation they should not immediately begin talking about love, for it is only with their concubines that men begin in that way.”
2. Let her talk! Ladies love talking…

New Girl on the role of the new male
GOOD says New Girl shows how men are transforming in this new economy very akin to all the Atlantic’s end of men stories.
Fox’s New Girl suggests it’s not only women of the 21st century who are changing, but straight men, too: in a recession-era America, they’re learning to be, or have already become, more like women.
The story references things like “chit-chat” becoming how...

Marie Calloway interviews Momus. One step further in society’s ventures on dealing with everything like people are in therapy—or sitting on Oprah’s couch.
mrstsk:
This Marie Calloway interview with Momus in The Rumpus has a lot going on in it, but I want to highlight just one theme: my emerging tendency to see what once might have looked like conflicts as productive...

Newspapers dead in five years? →
The [USC Annenberg Center for the Digital Future] says “only four major daily newspapers” would survive, naming The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal.
At the other extreme, local weekly newspapers may still survive.

The 100 Hottest Women of All Time, according to...
Men’s Health came up with it’s Hottest Women of All Time List (perfect SEO bait) and it’s basically outrageous. Jennifer Aniston is No. 1, first of all. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are featured very prominently and aside from quibbles about what makes a woman hot — how is Brigitte Bardot only #75 for example — there are also some really uncomfortable assertions...

A Q&A with the utterly charming Roz Chast. I wish she was my super talented, quirky mother. Then I would totally qualify as a character for an upcoming Lena Dunham project.

Corpse Reviver No. 3
Went to Mondo Vino in Highland (Denver) today and can I just say I’m in love? It’s not a huge shop but it’s insanely well-curated. It’s the first place in Denver I’ve found Cocchi Americano or Carpano Antica—though the latter is a little rich for my bones at the moment. Plus, the staff seemed incredibly knowledgeable but were unpretentious about their globs of...

Best thing I ate today:
Got this at the Boulder County Farmer’s Market.
As the picture (which I did not take, but still, please don’t sue me. I don’t have any money) suggests, it’s goat cheese. The exterior is made with vegetable ash. The rind is also slightly bloomy and mold-ripened. Try it first, you will reconsider your gag reflexes when you taste how creamy and mellow it is.
